WIP400 - Programming for Designers – Final Project

Concept: You are the web designer and developer for a new [INSERT INDUSTRY HERE] company. Your task is to create a website using what you’ve learned about PHP and MySQL. You may choose one of the projects listed below or invent your own. Note: All student invented projects must be cleared with the instructor.

The project is due on the last day of the course. You will be given some time to work on the project in class; however, do not rely on the time given to complete the project. While the project will mostly be graded on your ability to effectively use PHP, the design and overall usability of the project will factor into your grade.

Projects:

·         Web Store with Shopping Cart System

·         Social Bookmarking System

·         Forum

·         Content Management System

·         Ad Delivery System

·         Invent your own (must be cleared with the instructor)

All projects must:

·         Use at the minimum: MySQL, CSS and either; Javascript or Flash

·         Have: About Us, Contact Us/Feedback, Search Form, RSS, Login Form

Key Dates:

Day 1: Receive Final Project Information

Day 5 (NLT): Inform/clear your project with the instructor

Day 25: Final Projects Due
